WANNEROO resident Warren Peters has been a dedicated volunteer in his community for many years.
His life-long passion for basketball inspired him to become a board member of the Wanneroo Basketball Association and help with junior development.
In recent years, Mr Peters has become involved with the Activ Foundation. His dedication to helping others, in particular his work as an Activ volunteer, has finally been rewarded with a week-long trip to Melbourne with Activ Recreation, the foundation’s travel, leisure and adventure program for people with a disability.
Mr Peters first volunteered for Activ Recreation’s Point Peron Summer Camp last year and has since volunteered on three other camps, providing support to Activ service recipients in Fairbridge, Dunsborough and Rottnest.
The Melbourne trip will be his first interstate holiday with the foundation.
“I didn’t know what to expect from my first camp, but I thoroughly enjoyed it,” he said.
“Each one is a new challenge and I look forward to that.
“I’ve signed up for a few more camps and am off to Brisbane with Activ later this year.”
